I hold a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Campbell University, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I am a licensed clinical mental health counseling associate (LCMHCA) in the state of North Carolina, and am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
I like to draw from a diverse pool of counseling orientations, particularly acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and existential therapy. My approach to therapy is very goal-oriented, with special focus on meaning and purpose in one's life. However, I always strive to tailor my sessions to what best works for each individual client.
My diverse background of experience, authenticity, sense of humor, and empathetic nature serve to create a comfortable environment where clients feel at ease laying out their struggles and exploring methods of change. I find great joy in connecting with my clients and learning their unique stories.
Outside of therapy, some things that I find purpose in include reading, exercising, roasting coffee, carpentry, and traveling. I also enjoy taking pictures with my old film camera, which most of the pictures on this website were taken with. I would love to hear what you are passionate about!
Mr. Splash - Administrative Assistant
It should be noted that my dog, Mr. Splash, may occasionally join us for sessions at his discretion. However, he has been well trained regarding the client's right to confidentiality. He is a good boy.
